Why human grade?

The HeroDogTreats™ team believes that our HERO’s are our family members and that they deserve the very best. No exceptions! At HeroDogTreats™ our products are from government inspected facilities from human-grade animals. We believe in feeding products you can trust! Buy Canadian, grown in Canada, and made in Canada.

Which HeroDogTreats™ lasts the longest?

This is based on your dogs’ personality but generally speaking, starting at the longest lasting: Antler-Bully Sticks-Hooves-Trachea-Feet-Duck Wings, and the remainder.

Are HeroDogTreats™ organic or hormone free?

We buy all of our products from government inspected facilities, and we only purchase products from human-grade animals. Because we buy from the slaughterhouse, we at HeroDogTreats™ feel it would be a lie if we advertised our products to be organic or hormone-free.

Why do all HeroDogTreats™ say pet supervision required?

We are HeroDogTreats™ do not know the personality of your dog. Each dog has been trained or raised differently, and we want to remind you that it’s important that your dog chews our treats, and learns to saviour each moment.

Are chicken bones safe?

Yes, dehydrated chicken bones are safe for your #dog. Cooked bones however are not. Cooked bones are brittle, and will splinter while dehydrated bones are still strong and will break instead of splinter when chewed.

Are the nails on the feet safe for my dog?

When a dog chases down a rabbit or duck, it’s safe to say the dog will consumer the entire animal. The nails, although scary looking, are full of calcium. If you’re uncomfortable with the idea, a small set of nail clippers will do the trick.

Our Chew Treat piece is getting small, what should we do?

Replace it, although it may seem common sense, sometimes a chewed down antler or bully stick can get lost under the couch. Should your dog get to it before you see it, you run the risk of them swallowing it and potentially causing a blockage. We recommend you err on the side of caution and replace it.

My dog tends to swallow the treat whole, what do I do?

As with all treats, we have to teach our dogs to chew. You can do that by holding onto the treat, and allowing your dog to chew at it, then pulling it away and repeating that process until your dog chews the treat versus inhaling it. If your dog does not learn to chew, do not continue giving them that treat.

Why Raw?

So your HERO can thrive instead of just survive!

How are allergies and food sensitivities are reduced?

Switching to a raw food diet, or to sensitivity formulas such as duck, rabbit, turkey or lamb may be the answer to solving your pet’s allergic reactions (continual scratching, chewing feet, hot spots, ear infections etc.) Additionally, many raw fed dogs have fewer health issues, meaning less expensive vet appointments.

Raw Diet

What are the Raw Diet Benefits?

A raw diet provides a range of benefits that commercially processed diets will never match:

Taste

As a carnivore dogs LOVE the taste of real meat and “Your HERO Will Love You For It” is a true testament. In our experience, and those of our clients every dog will take #HeroDogTreats over any other non-real meat treat every time.

Real Meat

Popular dog treats with additives have been linked to “mysterious illness[es] making thousands of dogs sick.” Fighting for FIDO – CBC MarketPlace. Feeding an All-Natural 100% Canadian raw real meat product WITHOUT any additives only makes sense. #HeroDogTreats is a product you can trust. Our treats are real-meat from human-grade animals. 100% Canadian, grown, dehydrated and packaged in Canada.

Clean Teeth

Plaque and tartar is related to carbohydrates in food. Food without starches naturally will produce cleaner teeth. In addition, the chicken feet, duck feet or beef aorta will clean teeth to a beautiful pearly white and prevent unnecessary health conditions due to diseased teeth.

Shiny Coats & No More Doggie Odour

Without the processing preservatives and additives in your pet’s food, you will notice that long haired coated breeds will have softer cottony coats with loads of shine and less shedding. Short coated breeds no longer have a greasy residue to their coat. In addition, your dog will no longer have that distinctive doggie odour.

Drooling and Water Intake

With better digestibility, your pet will no longer require the excessive amounts of water necessary to break down a dry food diet. In addition, this will mean less drooling and improved liver and kidney functions extending the overall long-term health of your pet.

Less to Scoop

Raw natural diets free of fillers, and preservatives are more digestible and therefore less waste is eliminated. Stools are firm and turn chalky within a few days and biodegrade into your yard.
